Portal Mini

Wanted to make a portal for the mantle as an homage to my first big art install. This is a 10x scaled down version using a completely new 3D model taking elements from the original. Couldn't realistically replicate the original interactivity and visual detail for anywhere close to a reasonable price so I settled with a simple rainbow LED cycle to produce the visual of a spinning portal.

I had some extra components lying around to give the portal some life. For the brains I used an Adafruit Trinket as it has a small profile. Used a LiPo battery with a charging board to allow it to be wireless. Finally threw in a button where the button was on the original portal to turn it on and off, and a part of a WS2812 LED strip. The Arduino programming for it was very simple as it's just rainbow cycling the LEDs.
